Some destinations take weeks to fully appreciate. Florence isn’t one of them.

A long weekend in Florence, Italy gives you the perfect opportunity to experience some of the world’s greatest art, architecture, food and culture — all in a city that feels wonderfully intimate and easy to explore.

Imagine starting your morning with an Italian espresso beneath the Duomo, spending the afternoon discovering Renaissance masterpieces, wandering along the Arno, and ending the day with a glass of wine and an unforgettable Tuscan meal.

That’s the beauty of Florence. It’s sophisticated without being complicated, historic without feeling stuck in the past, and absolutely made for lingering.

The real flex? Knowing how to enjoy it.

And we’re planning to do just that.

We’re putting together a Myers Tours long weekend in Florence from October 28 through November 2, and we’d love for you to join us.

This is exactly the kind of European getaway we love: enough time to experience the best of Florence while leaving plenty of room to wander, relax and enjoy the city at your own pace — with the important details taken care of for you.

Our Florence trip will include:

* Round-trip airfare

* Hotel accommodations

* Airport transfers

* City tax

* Daily breakfast

Join us now and start planning your time in Florence. Here are five things we’re looking forward to experiencing in Florence.

1. Standing Beneath the Duomo at Sunrise

There’s nothing quite like seeing Florence wake up.

Early mornings bring quieter streets, softer light, and the chance to truly appreciate the scale and beauty of Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence’s magnificent cathedral.

The Duomo’s iconic red-tiled dome dominates the Florence skyline and has become one of Italy’s most recognizable landmarks. Seeing it in person — especially when the city is just beginning to wake up — is something you’ll remember.

Take your time. Look up. And don’t forget to appreciate the incredible details of the cathedral’s marble façade and surrounding piazza.

2. Getting Lost in the Uffizi Gallery

Florence is often called the birthplace of the Renaissance, and there’s no better place to experience that history than the Uffizi Gallery.

Home to masterpieces by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and other Renaissance greats, the Uffizi is one of the world’s most important art museums.

But don’t feel like you need to rush through it checking masterpieces off a list.

Take your time. Wander through centuries of artistic brilliance. Stop in front of the paintings that catch your eye.

That’s part of the magic of Florence — there is something extraordinary around nearly every corner.

3. Crossing the Ponte Vecchio

The Ponte Vecchio is one of Florence’s most recognizable landmarks and one of the city’s most charming places to wander.

This medieval bridge crosses the Arno River and is lined with historic jewelry shops and small boutiques. But it’s the atmosphere — and the views — that make it special.

Cross the bridge, stop to admire the river and surrounding architecture, and then wander into the streets on either side.

It’s the kind of place you’ll want to cross more than once — just because you can.

4. Watching the Sunset from Piazza Michelangelo

For one of the most spectacular views of Florence, Italy, head uphill to Piazza Michelangelo.

From here, the entire city unfolds below you. The terracotta rooftops stretch toward the horizon, the Arno winds through the city, and the Duomo rises above it all.

Go in the late afternoon and stay through sunset.

As the sun drops behind the city, Florence takes on a warm golden glow that makes an already beautiful city feel almost magical. It’s a moment you won’t forget.

5. Eating Your Way Through Florence

Let’s be honest: the food is a big part of the reason you’re here.

Florence is a city meant to be enjoyed around the table.

Think handmade pasta, Tuscan specialties, local wines, fresh ingredients and gelato that may very well ruin all other gelato for you.

Try traditional Florentine dishes such as bistecca alla Fiorentina, ribollita and pappa al pomodoro. And absolutely leave room for dessert.

But don’t make every meal a checklist. Some of the best food experiences happen when you find a little trattoria tucked away on a side street, settle in for a long dinner and let the evening unfold.

Long dinners, local wines and slow conversations are all part of the rhythm of Florence.

The Ultimate Florence Long Weekend

The beauty of Florence is that you don’t need to see everything.

In fact, trying to see everything is probably the least Florentine thing you can do.

Give yourself a few days and embrace the rhythm of the city: magnificent art in the morning, a leisurely lunch, wandering through beautiful streets in the afternoon, an aperitivo before dinner and a long evening enjoying the food, wine and atmosphere.

That’s the real travel flex. Not saying you’ve been to Florence.

Actually knowing how to enjoy Florence.

And this October, we’re planning to do exactly that.
